Tourist Guide Course

  1. I have just completed Form 5 and want to become a tourist guide. How can I obtain a Tourist Guide Pass?

    You can take the Pre-service Tourist Guide Training Course launched by the TIC. The Course lasts for 189 hours and is organised by nine training institutions under TIC supervision. After completing the course, you will have to pass the examinations organised by the TIC in order to apply for a Tourist Guide Pass.   2. What are the entry requirements for the Pre-service Tourist Guide Training Course? Which institutes are organising the Course?

    To take the above course, you must be:

    1. 18 years old or above;
    2. a holder of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card, or a holder of the Hong Kong Identity Card who is not subject to any condition of stay; 
    3. must have at least Form 5 education level or equivalent; and 
    4. Grade E or above in Chinese Language or English Language (Syllabus A) in the HKCEE, or equivalent, or
      Level 2 (Grade E before 2007) or above in Chinese Language or English Language in the HKCEE, or equivalent.
