Baba-Nyonya, also known as Peranakan is a unique community and they were usually born in Penang and Melaka. Arriving from China centuries ago, the new immigrants assimilated the Malay culture. The Baba-Nyonya in Penang mainly communicates in Hokkien (one of the Chinese dialects) spiced with Malay words while the Baba-Nyonya in Melaka speaks mainly in Malay. Encore Melaka
Impression Series at Encore Melaka is an immersive visual and auditory experience, presented in a 360-degree rotating auditorium with multiple-stage. The Multicultural Melaka is expressed through the blend of traditional and contemporary dance performed by 160 local performers! In an approximately 70-min show, we will go through the six centuries of history literally crossing through time and experience the multicultural and multi-ethnic Melaka.
