The TIC thanks the Travel Industry Authority (TIA) for listening to the trade and adding new provision under Directives for Licensees. The newly amended Directives for Licensees will come into effect on 1 May 2026.

According to the new requirement, licensed travel agents must include the following term in the service agreement entered into with licensed tourist guides: whether the travel agent allows or does not allow the tourist guide to sell goods or services to tour groups, and (if the sale of goods or services is allowed) the details of the goods or services allowed to be sold. Licensed tourist guides must act in accordance with the above term.
